Our Jubilee Story: 50 Years of God’s Faithfulness

In 1976, God began something special in a small, humble church along Hurricane Creek—a little place known as Swamp Church. It didn’t look like much to the world, but it was rich in faith, prayer, and obedience. That’s where Full Gospel Ministries was born, founded by Pastors Andy and Martha Presley, who simply said “yes” to the call of God.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” — Zechariah 4:10

From those early days, we have seen the hand of God move in powerful ways. Over the years, the Lord has saved the lost, healed the broken, delivered the bound, and set captives free. Lives were changed not by programs or buildings, but by the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s Word.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

The ministry journeyed through many different locations, each one marking another step of faith. Then in April of 2000, God planted Full Gospel Ministries at its current home on Little Garden Road in Oakwood, Virginia. What a blessing it has been to watch the church grow there—spiritually, numerically, and in love.

Leadership through the years has been a gift from God. Pastor Martha Presley faithfully served as Senior Pastor until July of 2010, shepherding the people with compassion, prayer, and strength.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21

Pastor Andy Presley then served as Senior Pastor until August of 2023, leading with humility, wisdom, and a steadfast commitment to God’s Word and God’s people.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” — Psalm 37:23

Today, we rejoice as the vision continues through the next generation. Pastors Andrew and Sylvana Presley now serve as our current pastors. God is using them mightily, and we are seeing fresh vision, renewed passion, and powerful moves of God in this season.

“One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” — Psalm 145:4

This year, we celebrate 50 years—our Jubilee year. Jubilee is more than a number; it represents freedom, restoration, and God’s perfect timing.

“You shall proclaim liberty throughout all the land.” — Leviticus 25:10

As we look back, our hearts are full of gratitude. As we look ahead, our faith is strong and our expectation is high. God is still saving, still healing, still restoring, and still calling people into His purpose. God is doing mighty things in Full Gospel Ministries today, and we know the best is yet to come.

“Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:24

To God be all the glory—for 50 years of faithfulness, and for every year yet to come.
